There IS a difference between having a library  card and  being a Friend. The Friends'  mission is to promote the Spring Branch-Memorial Library by raising funds, communicating the activities and benefits of the Library to local residents and supporting the Library as a cultural and educational asset to the community. 

Friends of the maud marks library

The mission of the Friends of the Maud Marks Library is to provide and support Maud Marks Library with collection and equipment purchases, outreach community programs, children’s educational programs and library personnel development that are not available from the county budget.
