HCFOL Awards Mini Grants to our Members

In recognition of the twelfth annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week (October 2017), the Harris County Friends of the Library awarded a $150 mini grant to 16 of our member Friends groups. They were allowed to use it for whatever benefited their library. They were given to thank them for all of their contributions of time and expertise that significantly enhance the programs and services at each of their libraries. Some of the projects that were funded are listed below:

LaPorte - supplies to produce Thermochromic Slime

Parker Williams -- mini drones so that the library can have drone races for the teens over the summer

Evelyn Meador - ESL materials

Spring Branch - Purchase a Bare Conductive Touch Board Starter Kit. This kit will be used for STEM programming for children and teens.

Fairbanks - Purchase a canopy to use at outreach activities
